An usually large and beautiful Ewe cloth - a Ghanian textile, originating from Bonwire in the Ashanti region. Made of handwoven cloth, with strips of silk and cotton, and embroidered abstract shapes. Historically these textiles were worn in a toga-like fashion by royalty among the Akan.  In modern day Ghana, the wearing of kente cloth has become widespread to commemorate special occasions.
